WLA hosted a one-hour complimentary webinar where we had invited key industry professionals to provide updates on how the pandemic has affected the commercial leasing environment, its impact on real estate market values, and a discussion of government initiatives affecting property taxes. Our guest speakers were:
- Natalka Falcomer, Groundworks – How COVID-19 changed the commercial leasing landscape. A dive into what legal arguments worked, what landlords and tenants negotiated and the future of the legal landscape.
- Paul Morassutti, CBRE – Paul will discuss the overall outlook for the Canadian economy and the performance of each major sector and will highlight major trends that represent both risk and opportunity for market participants.
- Lynne Ashton, Walker Longo & Associates – An update on measures introduced in the 2020 Ontario Budget to provide property tax relief for business property owners as well as a discussion on changes to the current property assessment landscape and important upcoming appeal deadlines.
